I have been a dedicated member of S M Accountants since 2013, beginning my journey as a Graduate Accountant and progressing to my current role as Senior Accountant. Over the years, I've gained extensive experience in taxation, compliance, financial reporting, and client advisory across a diverse range of individual and business clients.

What is your position/duties at S M Accountants & Associates?

Senior Accountant

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and lodge income tax returns, GST/BAS statements, and other compliance-related documents for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
• Payroll Processing: Manage payroll operations, including PAYG withholding, superannuation, STP reporting, and employee entitlements.
• Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy.
• Liaison with Stakeholders: Communicate with clients, ATO, financial institutions, and other stakeholders regarding financial and compliance matters.
• Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all financial practices comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

I am a Receptionist/Junior Accountant at S M Accountants, where I handle a variety of administrative duties and bookkeeping tasks. My responsibilities include preparing quarterly superannuation contributions, processing payroll for clients, and managing ASIC documentation, as well as lodging PAYG summaries with the ATO. I hold a Bachelor of Accounting with a major in Finance from La Trobe University (2024). I have been a part of the S M Accountants team since November 2023, and in my time here, I’ve come to consider my colleagues more like family. We work together to provide exceptional service to our clients and ensure their satisfaction. My goal is to gain more experience in the industry and complete my CPA certification.
